Giedre, what inspires you or pushes you to create a healthier and happier you?
Good question. Indeed, it was the child's allergies that pushed me in the beginning. As a result, we had to change our food diet and, at the same time, our habits. Following a strict diet (eliminating the biggest allergens as much as possible, eating clean food) awakened my consciousness, and I realized that I take responsibility for my own choices.
I am now inspired by everyday life, the knowledge I am gaining and enjoying the process, not just the result.
What is quality of life for you? And how did you achieve the one you enjoy today?
Quality for me is associated with the best things; in life - awareness, openness with oneself above all, sincerity, freedom, love, family and many more. And it is different for everybody, I think it depends on our experiences, values and attitudes.
I move forward in small steps, I am grateful for everything I get - positive or negative moments of life are just lessons, I am looking for the meaning in them, for what I have to learn from it all.
Does your environment and family align with your rhythm? How do you navigate differences to find common ground?
We live together as a family, but we also live our own lives. It is normal that we are different and respect each other's choices. So we have gone through a number of phases and we seem to have come to terms with the fact that I eat one way (although very often we cook a lot of things together) and the family another. There was a period when I wanted to share everything, to invite people to try it, to taste it together, but now I don't do that anymore. I have realized that I am the one who is making the change, and if I want to, others will join in.
Do you follow a discipline, a routine in order to be healthy, happy and sustainable in this fast-paced world?
The best discipline I have is to form habits. What helps the most is knowledge and understanding of what I want to change and why and how to do it. And also to allow myself to make mistakes and to stray - to not beat myself up if I fail or don't stick to a plan, because I know I can always go back to the starting point and start again.
And I don't like a strict routine in my life, I look for novelty, for the flow of the river, for the life in life.
What's in your wardrobe? Do you shop for clothes emotionally or rationally? Does appearance matter more than personality in your fashion choices?
The winds are whistling in my current wardrobe 😊. Seriously, it's not the quantity that matters to me, but the quality. Shopping is not my medicine, so I buy quite rarely, but I think about combinations, what I will wear with what, what is missing. I often tame clothes for more than one season, so I look for quality, especially natural fabrics, for example like linen, but I also try to get a feel for whether or not the garment "fits" me. There is an emotional component to all our decisions, so I choose rationally, but I also look at the emotions a garment evokes. And I invest in knowledge and experience 😊.
